Matthew Pearson, MD received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. After his fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, Dr. Pearson joined the faculty of neurological surgery at Vanderbilt and served on staff at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital, where he built the pediatric brain tumor and epilepsy surgery programs.
Board-certified in neurosurgery and pediatric neurosurgery, Dr. Pearson enjoys helping children with brain and spine problems. He is an expert in neuroendoscopy and hydrocephalus and has special medical interests in treating brain tumors, epilepsy and movement disorders.
Dr. Pearson is an avid audiophile, a person enthusiastic about high-fidelity sound reproduction. He and his wife breed and show award-winning Persian cats.
