Comprehensive Care for Women with Gynecologic Cancers
Gynecologic cancers are most often seen in women over the age of 50, but can occur at any time in a woman's life. These malignancies include ovarian, endometrial, fallopian tube, cervical, vulvar and vaginal cancers. Although abnormal vaginal bleeding may be a warning sign for some gynecologic cancers, others (particularly ovarian cancer) have non-specific symptoms such as abdominal swelling or bloating.
Sacred Heart Women's Hospital is pleased to offer comprehensive treatment for cancers of special concern to women. Our Medical Staff includes two physicians who are the region's only specialists in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic cancers.
Dr. Steven DeCesare is an obstetrician/gynecologist who completed fellowship training in cancer surgery and in the latest, most effective treatments for gynecologic cancers. He can provide specialized surgical treatments and chemotherapy, sometimes in combination with radiation therapy.
