Ronald McDonald House
The generosity of the Ronald McDonald House Charities stems from the staff’s compassionate philosophy – “that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child, not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will sleep at night.”
That’s why Ronald McDonald House strives to be the best home-away-from-home to families who have to travel to Pensacola to receive critical medical treatment for their children.
Since first opening in 1984, the Ronald McDonald House has served more than 20,000 adults and children from 6,000 families and has grown from the original 6-bedroom facility to our brand-new 26-bedroom house, which opened in 2010.
Those eligible to stay include families with children under age 21, as well as women with high-risk pregnancies. Families not staying overnight can take a break from the hospital environment through the Respite Care Program and are welcome to use the common areas of the house, including the kitchen, courtyard, playground, living and dining areas.
