At The Studer Family Children's Hospital at Sacred Heart, our mission is to treat and cure children with cancer and blood diseases by providing them with comprehensive, expert care from diagnosis through recovery.
We understand that a diagnosis of cancer affects the whole family. Our pediatric oncology team is dedicated to providing comprehensive, family-centered care for you and your loved ones when you need it most.
Named in honor of one of Pensacola's long-time pediatric oncologists, The Dr. Thomas G. Jenkins Pediatric Oncology Unit at The Children’s Hospital is a 9-bed unit dedicated to the inpatient treatment of pediatric cancers and blood disorders.
To reduce the risk of infection to our oncology patients, we’ve installed a special air-filtration system, as well as special doors to keep germs out of the unit.
Outpatient treatment of childhood cancer is available at our Pediatric Infusion Center.
A Team Approach to Cancer Care
Our pediatric oncologists, nurses, therapists and support staff work as a team to provide medical, physical and emotional support to you and your child and to create a cancer treatment plan that is tailored to each child’s unique needs.
This team coordinates with other pediatric-trained specialists at The Children's Hospital - including surgeons, endocrinologists, dentists, gastroenterologists, radiologists and other specialists - to monitor each child’s health every step of the way.
